#6 - Announcements.

Bandsmen, there will be band practice this Thursday, 4th November 2010.
Time: 8am - 5pm
Attire: Band tee
Venue: Report at foyer
Please be reminded to bring your pencils & journals. See you guys! :)

THE BAND

WELCOME TO BEATTYMBAND@BS.COM! Esprit De Corp

BEATTY MILITARY BAND is currently a symphonic band that is run in a military style.
the band not only focuses on our "indoor" aspect, and also keep our "outdoor" roots.
As a military band, the band not only plays concert music, the band also does footdrills
like any other UG group and participates actively in parades during school events.
Thus, our bandsmen are well-rounded students with physical, musical and character training.

Through determination, hard work and passion, the band clinched the Silver Award at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging of Concert Bands in 2009.
The band had many exchanges last year. The opportunity to exchange with other schools enabled us to broaden our perspective about other band cultures and to acquire invaluable music knowledge.
The band is currently under the baton of Mr Ian Lum, he had lead the band to greater heights.

The band is currently divided into the JUNIOR BAND and the MAIN BAND.
Junior band members will be auditioned into the main band after 1 year.
Every year, we will be holding a first recital in December for our junior band members.
Parents of the junior band members will get to hear their child perform a simple piece
on stage with their principal instrument then.
Also, we will be holding a section competition on the same day for the main band.

Band practices:
Tuesday 1500 - 1800
Wednesday 1500 - 1830
Friday 1300 - 1730
